The last time I had Ravenswood, I remember it being too woody to try again. I’ll give it a 2nd shot. How do you feel when they don’t post the vintage? Does it make you feel the wine is cheap and possibly just a random combination of left overs? Congrats on 50!
Hi, Robyn,
Thanks for the comment. When a winery doesn’t give me all the info I tend to think that they are just being sloppy. A company can spend a lot of time creating their awesome website, but then if they don’t maintain it, it loses it’s impact. Maintaining is more work than the creation many times. Even my site may have some issues that I don’t know about.
It can also be a sign that they intentionally don’t want to reveal everything about the wine. Maybe it was a bad vintage in general, or maybe they made something that wasn’t as good as normal. Not having a vintage can be a sign of laziness where they feel the wine is basically the same no matter what vintage and don’t care to try to keep things current.
Good, solid juice. I haven’t tried ravenswood recently either. Ever since I’ve been getting into the old world wines. Really need to get out to Sonoma this year. Look forward to your next video.
